Background of the study
Remote work has rapidly transformed the organizational landscape, particularly within corporate firms where technological advancements enable flexible working arrangements. In Ikeja, many corporate entities have adopted remote work models to enhance organizational efficiency and boost employee satisfaction (Olawale, 2023). This shift has been driven by the need for cost-effective operations, improved work-life balance, and access to a broader talent pool. However, the transition to remote work also presents challenges such as maintaining team cohesion, managing performance remotely, and ensuring effective communication (Ibrahim, 2024). The study investigates how remote work practices influence both operational efficiency and employee satisfaction within corporate firms. It examines factors such as digital infrastructure, managerial support, and employee autonomy. Recent trends indicate that, when managed effectively, remote work can lead to increased productivity and job satisfaction (Adebisi, 2023). Through surveys, interviews, and performance data analysis, the research aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and limitations of remote work in the corporate context. The study’s findings are expected to offer valuable insights for organizations seeking to optimize their remote work policies and practices.
Statement of the problem
Corporate firms in Ikeja face mixed outcomes with remote work, where challenges in communication, team cohesion, and performance management sometimes counterbalance its benefits (Olutayo, 2023). Despite investments in digital technology, many organizations struggle to maintain efficiency and high levels of employee satisfaction. The lack of a structured approach to remote work has led to inconsistencies in performance and difficulties in measuring productivity. This study seeks to address these issues by exploring the factors that determine the success or failure of remote work arrangements in corporate settings (Bamidele, 2024).
